Beverly Hills, CA (October 2007) – James Perse has announced the opening of its flagship store at 357 North Canon Drive in Beverly Hills. The new store showcases an extensive range of collections offered by the brand. Housed in a stunning space of 5,000 square feet, the store will serve as an inviting and expansive home for the distinctive West Coast brand and the ultimate destination to experience the effortless style of James Perse.
“It’s the home I always wanted to build for my collections, a place where our customers can really see what we’re all about,” says James Perse. “This is the next phase, expanding into new categories while staying true to who we are.”
Unique in concept, the flagship store is modeled after a California home with each room dedicated to the different lines by James Perse. Standard James Perse will be highlighted throughout paired with high-end offerings for home, work and travel-- always keeping the sophisticated traveler in mind. A concierge will also be on-hand extending unparalleled service to all customers, including special orders.
Influenced by the laid-back ease of James Perse’s native California, the flagship store combines modern architecture with rustic finishings. Outfitted with mid-century furniture, the space is decked in reclaimed wooden floors and dark cabinetry, opening to a living room, which is the central space and heart of the store. The Malibu line, children’s, loungewear, bags and accessories and home collection transition seamlessly from room to room and expand to an outdoor space featuring a garden inspired by the works of Luis Barragan and his use of water in landscapes.
Launching with the opening of the flagship is the Home Collection, Bags, accessories and James Perse classics, a line of exclusive intimates. The home collection includes high thread-count bedding in butter soft fabrics, double-sided duvets in high-end jersey and ultra-fine cotton and luxurious towels- all soft to the touch. For accessories, unisex pieces are designed for weekend and everyday needs. Canvas and leather belts are featured alongside military duffels in laundered leathers, soft canvases and twills, while weekenders, backpacks and messenger bags have an already gently “worked in” look. Underwear and loungewear is in a sexier setting, outfitted in dark woods evocative of an enticing, book-lined study with soft lamplight and rich carpets. Fine cotton nighties and classic underwear for women are presented alongside the collection of relaxed men’s t-shirts, tanks, boxers and soft cashmere robes.
Housed in an open space, the Malibu room is modeled after a mid-century home set on the beach and embodies a chic, surfer’s bungalow. Featuring both men’s and women’s, the range offers essentials for the beach; swimwear including board shorts and bikinis, graphic tee’s, flip-flops and must-have bags, accessories and ultra-soft towels.
“This is our West Coast home and an evolution of our brand,” says native Angeleno, James Perse. “We want to bring the authentic California experience to everyone in a space that’s inviting and timeless.”
